May 21: Heroes on Deck: Lake Michigan Aircraft Carriers Documentary. Learn about the connection to Traverse City during WWII in this one-hour documentary hosted by the Grand Traverse Lighthouse Museum at 7 p.m. in Scholars Hall at Northwestern Michigan College. Not every pilot landed successfully. This is the story of those pilots and their planes. Tickets cost $12 and are available on mynorthtickets.com.
May 21-22: 27th Annual Zoo-De-Mackinac. The Zoo-De-Mackinac is not a race, but rather a collection of outdoor enthusiasts enjoying one of the most scenic bicycle rides in the country. Starting Saturday morning at Boyne Highlands Resort, participants ride north approximately 51 miles along Lake Michigan, stopping once at Legs Inn and continuing on to Mackinac Island. May 20-27: Petoskey Restaurant Week. Enjoy your favorite restaurants and discover new ones at an affordable price. The best restaurants of Petoskey and Bay Harbor have joined forces for this special culinary event. $25 for dinner and $15 for lunch with some establishments offering two for one pricing.
May 26: May Swirl. Swirl is a delicious blend of culture, libations, and fun! Mingle in the CTAC galleries in Petoskey while enjoying live music, and sampling wine, beer and food from great area purveyors. Tickets usually sell out the day of Swirl, so get yours in advance. City Park Grill will provide food and wine, while Chris Koury performs. Tickets available at crookedtree.org.
