The 10-day festival is Mackinac Island’s first festival of the summer and attracts thousands of visitors. Events include the Lilac Festival Grand Parade, horse drawn carriage tours, Island tours with lilac experts, and the famous Dog and Pony Parade.
The Lilac Festival started in 1948 as a one-day event to honor the island’s lilacs that were brought to Mackinac during the 1700 and 1800s. Since then, the festival has blossomed into one of the island’s largest events.
Click here to vote daily for the Mackinac Island Lilac Festival now through Monday, March 28 at 11:59 p.m. The winner will be announced on Friday, April 1.
