Looking for something to do before the snow melts? Take your special someone out on a romantic date night and enjoy the beautiful Northern Michigan outdoors at the Boyne Mountain snowshoe event, “Summit to Stein’s Snowshoe Supper.”

The upcoming Northern Michigan event will be held in Boyne Falls on three nights: February 27, March 5, and March 12. The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. on Boyne Mountain’s most historic chairlift, Hemlock.

Once you’ve made it up the lift to the top of Boyne Mountain, warm up inside the Eagle’s Nest with spiced wine and hot cocoa. Your Stomp Guide will help you gear up with snowshoes, and the guided snowshoe hike will depart the Eagle’s Nest at 6 p.m.

“Snowshoeing is as easy as walking so it’s a winter sport that anyone can do, and one of the best parts of snowshoeing is the winter scenery you get to take in,” says Erin Ernst, Boyne’s director of communications.

The hour-long hike will take you across easy terrain through wooded areas and along ski slopes. Guests will be able to take in panoramic views of the area from the summit of Boyne Mountain at the start of the hike.

At the halfway point, your group will gather for a bonfire complete with hot toddies and warm cocoa before making your way to the dinner destination, Stein Eriksen’s, for a three-course meal paired with live entertainment. “Stein Eriksen’s sits right at the base of the slopes with a full wall of windows providing great views of the slopes and skiers and snowboarders riding under the lights,” Erin says.

Dinner Menu

  • Cheese Fondue with melted Appenzeller, Gruyere, and Emmentaler cheeses served with apples and bread
  • Prime rib and shrimp buffet
  • Chocolate fondue served with assorted fruits and cookies for dipping

Entertainment Lineup

  • February 27: Chris Calleja
  • March 5: Nathan Bates
  • March 12: Michelle Chenard

“We’re always thinking creatively about what else we can offer to our guests,” Erin says. “We love to combine offerings, and food, drinks, and winter sports always make a great combo!”

The cost is $45 per person, not including tax and gratuity. This includes the chairlift ride, a hot beverage at Eagle’s Nest, snowshoe rental, a hot beverage at the bonfire, and the three-course dinner at Stein Eriksen’s.
