Cross Country Skiing
With eight thoughtfully cut and impeccably groomed ski trails throughout the area, Grayling is a great place to spend the day cross country skiing. Spend an afternoon with beginner skiers at Rayburn’s, or let the day zip by with more expert skill at Hanson Hills. Find rentals at Forbush Corner or buy your own at Cross Country Ski Shop or Cross Country Ski Headquarters. There are no excuses to not to tear up the slopes!

Snowmobiling
Grayling receives a hearty dumping of snow each year, making it an ideal link in one of the state’s largest snowmobile trail systems. Endless acres of marked snowmobile trails lead into Roscommon and Houghton Lake, while others connect Grayling with Lovells, Lewiston, Frederic and Gaylord.
The North Central State Trail runs 62 miles from Gaylord to Mackinaw City through forests, farms, and villages. It’s open to snowmobiling December 1 through March 31. Grayling-area businesses like Sledheads in Frederic offer snowmobile rental and equipment servicing.
Snowshoeing
In summer and fall, Grayling sports miles of breathtaking public nature trails that brim with color. In winter when these trails are blanketed in white, most remain open to allow for snowshoers. Other trails in the area open only in the winter. Hanson Hills Winter Sports Park, host two trails purposed solely toward accommodating snowshoers.
