GLEN ARBOR: Many holiday events will take place surrounding Glen Arbor Thanksgiving weekend. The Greater Glen Lake Area near Sleeping Bear Dunes, including Glen Arbor and Empire, provides holiday community events full of fun, shopping, and recreation for the whole family from Friday, November 27 through Saturday, November 28. Tree lighting and Christmas caroling will get you in the spirit and give you something wintery to do the last weekend of November. It’s a great opportunity to buy from your local artisans, shop for yourself, and shop for the holidays!

Kick off the weekend Friday, November, 27, 2015, from 5 to 8 a.m. with a Glen Arbor original “Better than Black Friday” annual PJ Party, the town’s version of the day-after-Thanksgiving shopping. Shop the downtown district stores in your PJ’s for extra special discounts and fun! Shops offer special discounts during this time on clothing, gourmet foods, household décor, Michigan/USA-made products, local artisan gifts, art, jewelry, toys and more! Shoppers can grab some coffee, baked goods and breakfast or lunch while in Glen Arbor that morning, too.

Then, join the community Friday evening, November 27, for the annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony and caroling outside the Glen Arbor Township Hall at 6:30 p.m.! Immediately following the tree lighting, warm up inside at the Glen Arbor Holiday Marketplace Preview Party in the Glen Arbor Town Hall from 7 to 8 p.m. for local artisan gifts and shopping.

Shop locally at both Holiday Marketplaces in Glen Arbor and Empire. These annual community events feature a variety of artisans showcasing different types of gifts/work, with an emphasis on local and handmade products/artworks. There are different artisans at both markets and plenty of time in the day for you, your friends and family to drive and shop both markets!

Plus, November 28 is the nationwide #ShopSmall Saturday! Shop all of your #SmallBiz in the greater Glen Lake area, visiting the shops, galleries and restaurants that are open through the season.

Glen Arbor Holiday Marketplace:

Saturday, November 28, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Glen Arbor Township Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be at the Glen Arbor Holiday Marketplace from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with some little toys and goodies! Bring the kids and your camera for great fun and photo ops!
