Anyone traveling Up North for a Northern Michigan Labor Day vacation might want to tack on some extra time for travel. Delays are expected in Northern Michigan after a hidden stream collapsed pavement under US-31 in Emmet County last week. The result is a 12-mile detour that starts about 25 miles south of the Mackinac Bridge. On Labor Day this could cause extra traffic delays for anyone headed to the Mackinac Bridge for the annual Mackinac Bridge Walk. Learn more details about the construction and detours here.
