On Thursday, July 9 in downtown Elk Rapids Celebrate A Walk in the Animal Kingdom, the new book by Jerry Dennis and Glenn Wolff about animals of the world and their importance in our lives. The book is the third in the Dennis/Wolff series about the wonders of nature that began with their award-wining national bestsellers It’s Raining Frogs and Fishes and The Bird in the Waterfall. Program moderator and special guest Jeff Smith, Editor of Traverse, Northern Michigan’s Magazine, will lead a conversation about the long and dynamic Dennis and Wolff collaboration.
As a special treat, Glenn Wolff will present a brief slideshow of concept illustrations he sketched out when he and Dennis first met—at a table in the legendary and now defunct Stacy’s Restaurant in downtown Traverse City. It was at this very first meeting that the two men concepted their remarkable series three decades ago. Plan to attend this event that celebrates not only the completion of this trilogy, but also celebrates the sense of natural wonder in us all.
Doors and wine bar open at 5:00 p.m.
