HARBOR SPRINGS: BOYNE Golf – home to 11 premier golf courses spanning three resorts in the scenic northwest corner of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula – announces its Boyne Highlands Resort was ranked the U.S.’s favorite “Golf Resort for Value” in Golf.com’s inaugural “Golfers’ Choice Awards.”
Golf.com collected data over a six-week span, during which nearly 6,000 respondents rated 24 categories in the golf-travel space. They included favorite destinations, resorts, hotels and more, both in the U.S. and abroad. Participants were asked to rate only destinations and resorts they had visited in the last three years.
“We’re thrilled to receive this overwhelmingly positive feedback from our guests,” says Mike Chumbler, Boyne Highlands Resort president and general manager. “It’s a testament to the entire Boyne Highlands golf and resort experience and the hard work our team places on getting it right.”
Located in Harbor Springs and established in 1963, family-owned Boyne Highlands boasts 72 holes of golf onsite and an additional 18 a short drive away:
- Arthur Hills (18) – Tumbling terrain and wide fairways deliver enjoyment for all skill levels
- Donald Ross Memorial (18) – Replicates classic, challenging holes created by namesake
- The Heather (18) – Flawlessly-conditioned Robert Trent Jones design appeals to purists
- The Moor (18) – Demanding layout highlighted by a variety of dogleg holes
- Hidden River Golf & Casting Club (18) – Player-friendly, scenic layout located just off-site
A par-3 course perfect for beginners and the BOYNE Golf Academy are other golf-related amenities.
Lodging includes a 400-room Main Lodge, condos, townhomes and cottages. A spa, horseback trails, biking and other on-property activities are supported by nearby historic, lakeside resort towns Harbor Springs, Petoskey and Charlevoix, all of which are a short drive from Mackinac Island. Following in Hemingway’s footsteps, taking in the famous northern Michigan sunsets, enjoying the casino and exploring acclaimed microbreweries like Petoskey Brewing mean golf isn’t the only game in town.
