Northern Michigan Memorial Day Services & Parades

Those who served already know—and those who didn’t will never truly understand—what it means to serve in the Armed Forces of the United States.  Please take the time to commemorate the services of American veterans at one of the following Northern Michigan Memorial Day events in Boyne City, Cadillac, Mackinac Island and other Northern Michigan towns.

Boyne City

Taking place on Monday, May 25th, 2015:

  • Boyne City Booster Foundation’s Memorial Day Breakfast; Boyne City High School; 7 am
  • Memorial Day Parade; from American Legion Hall on Lake St. to Veterans Memorial Park; 11:45
  • Flag raising with Boyne City HS Band and Gaeyle Gerri-Boss performing; Veterans Memorial Park; noon

  • Memorial Day Observances in Veterans Park; 9 am
  • Memorial Day Observances in Brookside Cemetery; 10 am

East Jordan

Taking place on Monday, May 25th, 2015

  • Memorial Day Parade begins at GAR Park; 10:45 am
  • Memorial Day Program in Memorial Park; after the parade

Harbor Springs

Taking place on Monday, May 25th, 2015

  • American Legion Breakfast; 7-9 am
  • Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk on the waterfront; 8 am
  • Memorial Day Parade begins & ends at Zom Park; 10 am
  • Memorial Day Service at Lakeview Cemetery; after the parade

Mackinac Island & Mackinaw City

Taking place on Monday, May 25th, 2015:

  • Memorial Day Observance; Fort Mackinac on Mackinac Island; 8:30 am
  • Michilimackinac Pageant; Fort Michilimackinac in Mackinaw City; 9 am, also occurs Saturday, May 23rd and Sunday, May 24th

Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 25th, 2015:

  • 9:30 am: Lineup at First St. across from the Baptist Church
  • 10 am: Parade procession begins with short services throughout, the first at Municipal Marina, second at the Village Green and third at Pentwater Cemetery (located 1/2 mile north of downtown)

All Veterans, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts are encouraged to participate. The Pentwater Band marches in the parade and plays during services.

Taking place on Monday, May 25th, 2015:

  • Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk start near the bubbler in Zorn Park on Bay Street; 8 am
  • Memorial Parade and service; parade begins at Central School and ends at Pennsylvania Park, where a short service will commence; parade begins at 10 am
