It’s time! MyNorth Red Hot Best of Northern Michigan voting and nominating is open, now through March 16th!
Old favorites return: burger, pizza, ski run and redhead. Plus lots of new categories: realtor, snowmobile bar, outdoor gear store and toughest golf hole. Folks asked us to find out more about red hot shops, so we have gift shop, men’s clothing shop and Petoskey stone souvenir shop. One can vote for two teachers this year: art and math.
Vote for the 2015 MyNorth Red Hot Best of Northern Michigan in all 101 categories or just a few.
Once you vote, make sure you share your favorites with friends, family, colleagues. Year after year, the difference between the top winners in many categories is remarkably close–despite 10,000 people voting!
If you don’t see your favorite nominated, again this year, you can write in your nomination. It takes a day or two for those write in nominations to show up on the ballot because we hand review and approve all the nominations–so there’s no monkey business! Rest assured all those write-ins get counted!
One vote per email address, please. Also, you’ll want to pay attention to the nomination requirements in the parentheses. For example, we’ll need the name of your favorite bartender and where he or she works. Like the desserts at your local bistro? Be sure to name one specific dessert like carrot cake or creme brûlée in addition to the restaurant name. Same is true for a sandwich; name a specific sandwich and sandwich shop in your nomination.
We’ll tally the Red Hot Best results and share the top of each category in our 2015 June issue of Traverse, Northern Michigan’s Magazine. Subscribe by April 25th to get the 2015 Red Hot Best issue and then use it to guide your Northern Michigan adventures throughout the year. Or you can get our Red Hot Best package which includes the 2015 June issue and a subscription at any time!
How does one make suggestions to add to the list of Red Hot? If this is not the appropriate venue, I apologize. I think some categories related to our love of our pets. Best groomer, daycare, dog walkers, Rescue, Vets, supplies (food, toys, clothing, etc), dog bakery, dog park, pet friendly public venue, trainers, and so on. I know I spend a lot of money and time on my pet, I’ll bet many others do so as well.
I enjoy voting on the Red Hots, and always look forward to the results.
