Hughthir White began dancing as a child. In Detroit he began studying with the acclaimed Harriet Berg. Hughthir went on to get a Dance Degree from Naropa University.

In the past thirteen years Hughthir has taught Children’s Dance Classes at The Children’s Center in Leland, Interlochen Arts Academy, Northern Michigan College and recently at Yen Yoga Fitness.

Hughthir has completed two Intensive Workshops with Anne Green Gilbert, in Seattle. Anne is a renowned Dance Educator, author of many acclaimed books on Teaching Creative Dance.

Hughthir’s style of teaching is devoted to encouraging the ‘creative’ while exploring the ‘conceptual’. He begins with the ‘Brain Dance’, a rich multi-layered warm up that is based on fundamental movement patterns that babies discover in their first year. These movement patterns wire the central nervous system by laying the foundation for appropriate behavior and attention, eye convergence necessary for reading, sensory-motor development and more.
