This weekend get artsy in Leelanau County! Don’t miss out on these two events that are all about celebrating Northern Michigan art.

Fiber Festival in Leland

The Leelanau Community Cultural Center is sponsoring its 14th annual Fiber Festival on Friday, October 10 from 5 to 8 pm and Saturday, October 11 from 10 am to 5 pm at the Old Art Building in Leland. Artists with original fiber art will exhibit and sell their work in mediums of wearable art, textiles, weaving, art quilts, fiber sculpture, knits and yarns. Admission is free. Fall for Art in Leelanau

The ninth annual Leelanau County gallery tour is October 10-12. This event provides tour goers with an opportunity to see Leelanau Country through the eyes of artists.

Don’t miss the opening reception on Friday October 10, from 6–8 pm at the Glen Arbor Art Association as part of the GAAA Member Show.

Participants can pick up an entry packet at any of the participating galleries and for each gallery visited a packet receives one stamp. There will be a prize drawing for all completed packets on October 12 at 3 pm at Lake Street Studios in Glen Arbor.

Participating galleries: The Secret Garden, Sleeping Bear Gallery (Empire), Glen Arbor Art Association, Glen Lake Artists Gallery, Forest Gallery, Synchronicity Gallery, Old School Gallery (Glen Arbor), Gallery in Cedar, Main Street Gallery (Leland), Wright Gallery, Northport Pottery, Leelanau Prints (Northport), Gallery 22 Art & Espresso (Suttons Bay).

Gallery hours are October 10-11 from 10 am-5 pm & October 12 from 10 am-2 pm.
