On Saturday October 11, 2014 from 1-4 pm celebrate the 42nd Annual Heritage Day at the Empire Area Museum Complex in Empire.

Operated by the Empire Area Heritage Group, the museum’s four building complex is recognized by many as one of the most unique in Northern Michigan. The complexes include the Main Building, One-Room School, 1911 Hose House (Fire Station), and the Billy Beeman Barn.

Throughout the day there will be plenty of fun for people of all ages! There will be demonstrations using turn of the century methods for making apple cider, ice cream, butter, apple butter, maple sugar candy, sauerkraut and more!

Other entertainment and activities will include black smithing, woodworking, and music box and player piano demonstrations.

There will also be several old tractors, cars and bicycles spread throughout the museum grounds providing various demonstrations. A donated quilt from the local Fire House Quilters will be raffled off during the festivities to benefit the Empire Museum. Tickets will be available until 3 pm.

This is an event that is free and open to the public. Come out for some fun in Empire!

They are always looking for new exhibitors for any old crafts, collections or displays. If you are interested or want more details give them a call: 231.326.5519 or check them out on the web.
