Willkommen. Grand Traverse Bay looked like a scene out of the Love Boat on Saturday, October 4, 2014. Plantours’ 400-guest ms Hamburg cruise ship moored in West Bay in time to enjoy Northern Michigan fall colors. The 14,903-ton ms Hamburg was built in Germany in 1997 as Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ Columbus. The Hamburg is on a 16-night Great Lakes cruise from Montreal to Toronto, the Welland Canal/Niagara, Windsor, Tobermory, Little Current, Chicago, Milwaukee, Traverse City, Mackinac Island, Kingston and return to Montreal.

The passengers disembarked into 7 luxury busses on their way to enjoy Northern Michigan fall colors and attractions: Old Mission peninsula, lighthouses and of course, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

MyNorth Media was happy to welcome the visitors with copies of our MyNorth Vacation Guides and Traverse, Northern Michigan’s Magazine. We hope this is just the first Hamburg cruise to enjoy Northern Michigan fall colors. And spring cherry blossoms, summer sandy beaches … all the seasons of Northern Michigan.
