The Traverse Area District Library’s East Bay Branch will welcome a flock of visitors when it welcomes Wings of Wonder, an educational and rehabilitation organization devoted to the protection of birds of prey in Northern Michigan.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 12th, when Wings of Wonder founder Rebecca Lessard will speak about Northern Michigan birds of prey and the threats that they face in the wild.  Lessard will then introduce two or three birds that reside at Wings of Wonder’s rehabilitation center.  The group recently released an eagle back into the wild, and works to rehabilitate other injured birds at their facility in Empire.

The program will also feature an information table featuring pamphlets and other materials on bird conservation.  The event is free to the public.

The TADL’s East Bay Branch is located at 1989 Three Mile Rd. in Traverse City.

Visit Wings of Wonder’s website to see a list of the event’s potential avian visitors.
