Boyne USA’s Brew-Ski Festival

The fifth installment of this suds and snow event is set for March 8, 2014 at Boyne Highlands Resort and features 100+ craft brews, brats and entertainment under a tent pitched at the base of the slopes. Michigan breweries represented include Bell’s Brewery, Short’s Brewing Co., Arcadia Ales and Founders Brewing Co., among others, as well as a selection of specialty beers from outside the state. The event itself is free, with tickets available for beer purchases. Nub’s Nob Mardi Gras

The resort’s annual spring fling, held March 22, 2014, boasts challenge races like the Soaker Cup, costume contest, “crazy couples,” face painting, the Fat Tire Boogie, Dorie Sarns Open races and live entertainment featuring the Petoskey Steel Drum Band on the deck. Organizers encourage participants of all ages.

Crystal Mountain Shindigs

This iconic Benzie County ski resort is celebrating the opening of its new Buck Quad chairlift—and three new runs—with a party at the mountain Dec. 20. Food, drink specials on the Kinlochen Plaza and music are all part of the event. Winter Festival in Petoskey

Downtown Petoskey holds its annual Winter Festival—a collection of fun and wacky events, designed to celebrate the winter months—Feb. 20–22, 2014. Suds and Snow, Timber Ridge

Organizers of this annual event bring together two popular wintertime diversions: snowshoeing and Michigan craft beer. Slated for March 1, 2014, Suds and Snow takes place at Traverse City’s Timber Ridge RV & Recreation Resort—home to some of the region’s best trails, including a 5K link to the Vasa Pathway.
