Join MyNorth Media at the 11th Annual Festival on the Bay, August 16-17, 2013 at the Petoskey, Michigan waterfront. Events include great live music, lots of fun kid’s activities, a petting zoo, great food, competitive sporting events, Chalk & Chocolate Festival, Youth Fishing Derby, SAFE Teen Dance, parasailing over Little Traverse Bay and more! An arts and crafts show will be held on Saturday in Pennsylvania Park in downtown Petoskey.
Admission to Petoskey Festival By the Bay:
Buttons are on sale at the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce office for $5 and provide weekend-long admission to the Entertainment Tent and to the Children’s Area. Without a button, there will be an admission fee of $5.00 per person, per day during festival.
Petoskey Festival by the Bay Band & Music Schedule
Dance, jam and groove by the bay! 12 bands will rock the Entertainment Tent this year on Friday, August 16 and Saturday, August 17. Performers will start at 5:00 pm on Friday and at noon on Saturday, and will perform until midnight both nights.
The entertainment tent is located in the Ed White Ballfield, and beer, wine, pop and water will be available for purchase.
Friday, August 16
5:00 pm – Hipps-n-Ricco Popular northern Michigan “Blues Duo” who put out a lot of great sound!
6:30 pm – Jelly Roll Blues Band A MyNorth Red Hot Best of Northern Michigan winner, performing a blend of blues, rock, jazz, and swing.
8:00 pm – Petoskey Steel Drum Sponsored by Bank of Northern Michigan. A crowd favorite and another MyNorth Red Hot Best of Northern Michigan, this will be the last performance of the summer and for outgoing seniors.
9:00 pm – The Northern Skies Folk-Rock With Teeth! The Grand-Rapids based band plays Bluegrass, Americana, and Celtic music with a nice indie vibe and energy! Check out the Northern Skies video for a sample.
10:00 pm – AllenAsTim and The Dance Hall Rockers Allen Scott is a dynamic Tim McGraw Tribute Artist from Detroit and has been performing his tribute to the multi-award winning performer since 2004.

1:45 pm – Elizabeth Cannon Singer and songwriter from Gaylord, Michigan
3:15 pm – Billy Strings & Don Julin Bluegrass delivered with pedal-to-the-metal intensity!
4:45 pm – Under the Bridge Collaboration of some of the most talented entertainers in Northern Michigan! Their first CD was released on May 26, 2013 at City Park Grill.
6:30 pm – Blue Molly Four-time WYCE-FM Jammies Award-winning band playing an eclectic and energetic mix of everything from blues to R&B, rock and roll, jazz, and soul!
8:15 pm – Ben Overbeek & Tragek Mix Jazz and funk infused band from Petoskey, this group was the winner of our “Fight for the Festival” Battle of the Bands!
10:00 pm – Funktion Things are about to get funky! From silky smooth R&B to cool island dub rhythms to rowdy hip-hop, Funktion will make you want to move!
Petoskey Festival by the Bay Children’s Events
Children’s Area at Petoskey Festival on the Bay is all about FUN! Families visiting the festival will have plenty of activities available to entertain children of all ages. The Children’s Area is in Bayfront Park, near the Clocktower. And stop by the yellow MyNorth Media Tent on Saturday to play a few games with us and register for our kid’s prize pack drawing.
Kids activities include entertainers on the Children’s Stage, a large petting zoo, petoskey stone hunting, face painting, arts and crafts, games and a bouncy house. Children’s Area will be open on Friday, August 16 from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturday, August 17 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
