Northern Michigan’s number one way to start the day is about to get better. WWTV-WWUP/TV 9&10 News’ and WFQX-WFUP/TV Fox 32’s morning newscast Michigan This Morning is working with Higher Grounds Trading Co. to develop its own coffee that will soon be available for purchase!
Viewers are being asked to help pick the flavor by participating in taste tests around Northern Michiganand casting their vote on which blend they like the best. The winning blend will be produced by Higher Grounds Trading Co. in Traverse City and for sale in select locations later this summer.
Part of the proceeds from each package of coffee will be donated to watersheds in Northern Michigan. Groups like The Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay and the Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council work to protect, preserve, and restore the beautiful waters of our state. Their work will help keep our lakes and rivers fresh for generations to come.
The Taste Test locations and times are as follows:
June 17- Glen’s Market in Sault Ste. Marie from 9am-10am
June 18- Glen’s Market in Cadillac from 8am-9am
June 19- Glen’s Market in Manistee from 8am-9am
Glen’s Market in Charlevoix from 8am-9am
Glen’s Market on Spring Street in Petoskey from 10am-11am
June 20- Glen’s Market in Roscommon from 8am-9am
June 21- Family Fare on 8th Street in Traverse City from 8am-9am
“It is fun to develop our own coffee and we love that the proceeds will benefit such an important cause. Michigan is our home and the waters of Michigan are part of what makes it such an amazing state to live in. By supporting the watersheds through this project we are really supporting the future of Michigan,” says Tessia Klix, 9&10 News Marketing and Promotions Director. “Plus, our Michigan This Morning crew practically lives off of coffee during the show! It seems like the perfect mix!”
