The AmericInn® in Traverse City, MI today announced the completion of a comprehensive renovation project resulting in major improvements in all guestrooms in the 47 room hotel.
“We are pleased to announce the completion of this full renovation that has created an exciting, new contemporary atmosphere for our guests,” said Nick Trahair, General Manager. “The extensive project has included replacement of all guest room beds and bedding plus installation of new flat screen televisions throughout the hotel. Additional parts of the renovation included such improvements as new paint, furniture, carpeting, draperies, artwork and technology,” said Trahair.
Originally constructed in 1998, the renovation results in a fresh new appearance for the hotel plus added comfort for guests. The property is located at 1614 US Highway 31 North, Traverse City, MI.
“We are very pleased that the AmericInn Traverse City has invested in this significant property improvement,” said Paul Kirwin, president and CEO of AmericInn. “The renovation creates a welcoming atmosphere that brings to life the distinctive hospitality experience offered by the AmericInn brand,” he added. “As we continue to grow AmericInn as a contemporary and vibrant national brand, we are pleased that the Traverse City location now reflects this vision,” he added.
The hotel also focused on Michigan-made products. All the furniture for the renovation was custom-made for the hotel by Gilcrest Furniture in Holland, Michigan. “We are very proud to keep Michigan working by utilizing a Michigan company for the production of our furniture.” Trahair said. “When you walk into our hotel, you have a great product that you know came right from the mitten state!”
Besides the furniture, the hotel managed the construction project in-house and was able to hire all local contractors to complete the project ahead of schedule.
Additional elements of the hospitality experience offered by the AmericInn Traverse City include complimentary AmericInn Perk hot breakfast, free high-speed Internet, swimming pool and spaciously sized guestrooms.
As the summer season approaches and tourism begins to peak, many hotels are looking to showcase some of their latest renovations, much like the AmericInn in Traverse City. We applaud the hotel for upgrading its look, and for buying high-quality, Michigan-made furniture. In the future, as the assets gradually wear, the AmericInn should implement furniture asset management solutions to preserve these well-made local pieces. Through furniture refinishing and remanufacturing, these assets will retain their original look and meet brand standards, while significantly improving ROI and avoiding establishment shut down for extensive renovation plans.
