Boyne Mountain in Boyne Falls is offering enthusiasts another weekend of skiing and snowboarding as the resort reopens its slopes this Saturday and Sunday, April 27 and 28. Boyne Mountain is the only ski area in Lower Michigan with chairlifts still spinning for the 2012-13 winter season.
“The snow conditions are just too good to stop,” said Ed Grice, president and general manager of Boyne Mountain Resort.
“We had a big crowd here last weekend to take advantage of the skiing, especially on Sunday when it was warm and sunny, and look forward to another great weekend of skiing and snowboarding.”
According to Grice, it’s been 16 years since Boyne Mountain was able to ski this late in April.
The resort has been open for skiing and snowboarding on weekends following the conclusion of daily skiing on April 7. Boyne Mountain plans to have nearly 170 skiable acres and 25 trails open this weekend. Lift tickets for all ages are $25. Slope hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
