Traverse City Community: Each year, The Father Fred Foundation conducts its annual Father Fred Frostbite Food Drive to help fill the food pantry shelves of Traverse City. In a given year, they will see 17,000 visits to their food pantry, providing food to feed 60,000 adults and children. How can you help?
Donate Food or Cash. Watch it double.
Between February 8-17, 2013, you can donate food or even monetary donations at any of the following donation locations, OR donate online here. For ideas on what to bring, check out this full list of the community's most-needed items.
- Garfield Centre (800 block of S. Garfield)
- Fox Motors (US 31 South)
- Family Fare (Chum's Corner location – formerly Glen's)
- Oleson's (Three Mile and Hammond location)
- Tom's (Acme location)
All donations come directly to Father Fred and are used to help families right here in the Northern Michigan community. And, during the Donation Match Challenge, your donation of food or money will be doubled! If you'd rather, you can mail your donation via check to The Father Fred Foundation, P.O. Box 2260, Traverse City, MI 49685-2260.
Organize a Church Bag Drive.

These are simple to organize and can generate a surprising amount of food. All it takes is a youth or adult to pass out grocery bags on Sunday as parishioners are leaving church and collect them the following Sunday when kids and families bring their bags back full of non-perishable items. We supply the bags, a flyer listing items needed most, and a pick up if transportation of the food is needed.

Volunteer.

Several volunteer opportunities exist — The Father Fred Frostbite Food Drive
requires over 500 volunteers to make it happen!
