Northern Michigan Events: Feeling a little down? While we love our Northern Michigan winters, cabin fever is a real thing—especially in late February. Join your neighbors and shake off those winter blues in downtown Petoskey this weekend, February 21-23, 2013. Here's a brief outline of events to expect:
Thursday, February 21

11am-4pm Retail Therapy. Beat the winter blues with some retail therapy. Visit the great stores in Downtown Petoskey and pick up an entry form. Bring your form(s) (one per store) to the Downtown offices at 216 Park Avenue by 5pm Saturday, February 23. You could win a $100 Downtown Treasure Certificate.
3-7pm Chocoholic Frolic. Scorecard at the Downtown Offices or participating stores, get a wide variety of chocolate samples. Complete your card for a chance to win a great prize.
7pm Petoskey’s Got Talent. The Rose Room in Stafford’s Perry Hotel. Rules and registration form at petoskeydowntown.com. Semi-finals at 7pm. Finals at 9pm. Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Sponsored by Stafford’s Hospitality and Lite 96. Doors open at 6pm.
Friday, February 22

11am-4pm Retail Therapy.
5:45pm 4th Annual Whine and Dine, a progressive dinner. Cost is $45 per person. Make your reservations at 231.622.8501. Tour includes appetizers at American Spoon 5:45pm; wine and cheese at Chandler’s 6pm; salad and wine tasting at Mackinaw Trail Winery 6:30pm; soup at Whitecaps Grill and Spirits 7pm; entrée at Stafford’s Perry Hotel 7:30pm; and dessert at City Park Grill 8:30pm.
Saturday, February 23

8:30am Chase the Blues 5KFun Run/Walk. Starting line-up at 8am at the gazebo in Pennsylvania Park. Sponsored by Reid Furniture, Grain Train Natural Foods Co-op and Stafford’s Hospitality. Entry forms available at petoskeydowntown.com.
10am-2pm Play! Downtown. Children and parents are welcome to visit participating stores and enjoy games, puzzles, activities, arts and crafts, story time and more.
11am-4pm Retail Therapy.
2-4pm Pro-Am Hot Dish Cookoff, Mackinaw Trail Winery from ($5 per person). Public judging begins at 2:15pm. Restaurants compete in the professional category, and individuals in the amateur category. Registration forms at petoskeydowntown.com.
6pm Blue Renew. A mass renewal of vows celebration. If you’d like to renew your wedding vows, join us in Pennsylvania Park by the gazebo for Blue Renew. Check-in is at 5:30pm. Sign up to get your "official" Winter Blues Festival certificate of renewal. Registration forms at petoskeydowntown.com.
