Northern Michigan Events: Einstein Cycles announces the Fat Chance Fat Bike Race to be held on Sunday, January 20th at Crystal Mountain Resort. This 70's disco themed event is the first of four races scheduled for the Northern Michigan Fat Bike Series in 2013.
Jason Lowetz, owner of Einstein Cycles and manager of the Einstein Racing team commented, "We are thrilled to have New Belgium Brewing on board as a sponsor, so in addition to fat bikes, we'll have a supply of Fat Tire Ale." Although the course is designed for fat bikes, any off-road style bike is welcome.
Race categories include men's and women's fat bikes, mountain bikes and two-person relay teams. Starting at noon, participants will ride for two hours on a 4-mile groomed trail. The most laps determines the winners. There will be prizes for top finishers and those in the grooviest garb—bell-bottoms, wide-collars and platform shoes are encouraged.
Additional race dates include Fat Camp at Timber Ridge Resort on February 2nd, Fat Tuesday at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center on February 12th, and St. Fatty's Day at Marsh Ridge Resort in Gaylord on March 2nd.

I would like to introduce you to the Airlite Inflatable Snowshoe. These things come in a 10″x6″x6″ drawstring bag when you get the complete kit. They are 36″x16″ when inflated. They are so puncture resistant it’s almost unbelievable. Very tough, light weight material. They won the 2012 international inventors competition in Fairbanks Alaska a couple of months ago. These things are amazing and a perfect fit for the snowsport and FAT BIKE world. Check them out at http://www.airlitesnowshoes.com
