Northern Michigan Events:  Get a jump on holiday shopping at this annual Northern Michigan event! The Leelanau Community Cultural Center is sponsoring its 12th Annual Fiber Festival on Friday, October 5 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Artists with original fiber art will exhibit and sell their work in mediums of wearable art, textiles, batiks, weaving, art quilts, fiber sculpture, knits and yarns.  The featured artist is Linda Kustra of Traverse City, an award-winning fiber artist specializing in wearable art, who will be displaying her one-of-a-kind, hand-knit wearables with numerous fibers and colors.  Her fashions have been exhibited in juried art shows throughout Michigan and she has received many awards for best show in fiber media.

Admission to the Fiber Festival is free, so head to Leland this weekend and support the diverse talents of local artists.
