Northern Michigan Events: While you may not find a locally tree-ripened peach in the middle of a Northern Michigan winter, there are still plenty of fresh food offerings provided by local farmers.

Find everything delicious that a Northern Michigan winter can provide at the first-ever Taste the Local Difference Winter Celebration. Hosted by the Michigan Land Use Institute at Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa in Thompsonville, Benzie County's newest event celebrates the best in fresh, local foods grown year-round throughout Northern Michigan.

Taste the Local Difference will include greenhouse and hoophouse-grown produce, fresh cheeses such as goat and mozzarella, and organically-raised meats like chicken, lamb, pork, smoked fish, goat and even emu. All will be provided from Northern Michigan farmers' winter production.

Experience for yourself what a Northern Michigan winter (and dedicated local farmers) can produce. Tickets to the Taste the Local Difference Winer Celebration are $20 per person, and include food prepared by local chefs and wine tastings.

Make a weekend out of it! Benzie County is the perfect escape for winter sport and outdoor adventure enthusiasts.
