Northern Michigan Ski Resorts: Ford ‘Escape’ in Cadillac

Cadillac’s Caberfae Peaks Ski Resort is being honored in the great ‘Escape’ game trivia at the 2012 Ford Motor Interactive Display at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), January 9-22 at the Cobo Center in Detroit. Over 700,000 visitors and 2,000 automotive companies are attending the 2012 show. Northern Michigan’s Caberfae ski resort is one of four areas highlighted in the Ford booth, specifically highlighting where you can ‘escape to’ from the Detroit area on one tank of gas in the all-new Ford Escape, projected to achieve the best fuel economy of any compact SUV and up to 5 mpg better than previous Escape.

Northern Michigan’s Caberfae ski resort will be highlighted with graphic banners touting it as ‘Michigan’s Closest UpNorth Ski Resort’, noting that it’s only 208 miles from Detroit, and also identifying Michigan as having the second most alpine resorts in the nation, at 38 in total.

“This is a great opportunity for Caberfae, the show has huge attendance,” says Pete Meyer, Operations Manager, Caberfae Peaks, “Our recent networking within the travel industry at the State level brought this opportunity to the table and we jumped on it and we are really excited for the future.”

“With so many terrific destinations here in the state like Caberfae, you don’t need to travel very far to get away.  This partnership is a great step in showcasing all that Michigan has to offer – from vacations to vehicles,” said George Zimmermann, Vice President of Travel Michigan, part of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
