Northern Michigan Preservation: after several years of concerted effort, the Leelanau Conservancy has completed the Olsen Farm conservation project in the beautiful Bohemian Valley in Cleveland Township and the Sedlacek farm conservation project overlooking the Manitou Passage in Leelanau Township!  That’s 350 more acres of gorgeous and productive family-owned farmland that has been permanently preserved … and we’re not done yet! By year’s end, the conservancy expects to complete the Spinniken cherry and apple farm—172 acres on M-204 (a State-designated Scenic Heritage Route) in Suttons Bay Township as well as the Send & Emeott cherry farm—145 acres on Center Highway in the heart of the Bingham Township cherry and wine-grape district!  All in all, with your help we’ll have protected over 650 acres of Leelanau family farms in 2011 alone.  Stay tuned, there’s more to come in 2012!  Warmest wishes to you all for the Holidays and New Year!
