Marquette-based inventor and entrepreneur David Ollila developed a new ski that is designed to march along on flats and uphill with the stability of a snowshoe and then ski downhill through tangled backcountry forests. He says it's evolved to match the terrain and conditions that surround his home in Michigan's Huron Mountains. This video was shot by a customer who is giving the skis a run down a slope in the Green Mountains during an early November snowfall.
