If you love food and drink, there’s no better way to spend your money on June 21 than heading to Red Mesa Grill (Traverse City and Boyne City), Pearl’s (Elk Rapids) or Café Sante (Boyne City). Café Sante, Red Mesa Grill, and Pearl’s all received awards in Traverse Magazine’s Red Hot Best of Northern Michigan Contest.

The Annual Missy Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser was created to honor Missy Kamyszek, a beloved manager at the Red Mesa Grill who passed away tragically in 2004. The scholarship in her memory aids students in Traverse City’s Northwestern Michigan College Great Lakes Culinary Institute. All proceeds from Missy’s favorite food and drink items at all four restaurants will be donated to the scholarship endowment on June 21.

The evening will include feature musicians and other live entertainment, silent auctions, tequila tastings at both Red Mesa Grill locations in Boyne City and Traverse City, as well as bourbon tastings at Pearl’s in Elk Rapids.

Since 2005, more than $50,0000 has been generated for the endowment and 10 scholarships have been awarded to individual students in the Traverse City area.
