Northern Michigan Attractions: Beaches where your dog is welcome. (Fido will thank you!)
Harbor Springs: The Zoll Street beach is entirely dog (and family) friendly with shallow water, perfect for your pup to splash in. Pack a picnic too, there are plenty of picnic tables where you can set up camp for the day.
Cheboygan State Park: Dogs will feel at home at this Northern Michigan attraction complete with beaches, hiking trails and campsites. They aren’t allowed in the swimming zones, but are more than welcome on the trails and in the campground, as long as they are kept on a leash.
Boyne City Tannery Beach: Head to Tannery beach of Boyne City, a public beach on the shores of Lake Charlevoix. This hotspot provides doggie bags and scoopers for visitors (how convenient!) and is a great place to launch kayaks or canoes for a fun afternoon jaunt.
Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore: You’ll find plenty of room on the beach for you and your pooch at the North side of the beautiful Lake Michigan beach at Esch Road. There are some "No pet" areas which are designated by signs and can be found on maps as well. Burt Lake State Park: A designated dog-run area near the water is a great place to splash around and play with your dog. Just be sure to keep your pooch on a leash at all times. Although this isn’t on Lake Michigan, it’s still a great place for a dip, dogs and humans alike.
