Since 1858 the beautiful Grand Traverse Lighthouse on the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula has stood sentinel over Lake Michigan. Walk through the restored keeper’s dwelling and climb the tower for a spectacular view of Lake Michigan, Cathead Bay, Grand Traverse Bay and the Manitou Passage. Then, visit the Fog Signal Building and tour the new Shipwreck Exhibition, drive the Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) and hear the fog horn on Saturdays in June, July, and August.
