Traverse City restaurants: The Warehouse District in downtown Traverse City has a new resident: Xylo, a bistro/cafe drawing in diners next to Right Brain Brewery. 

The Traverse city eatery, which opened March 21, is located in the space formerly occupied by Cuppa Joe Warehouse Lounge. Owner Matt Walheim, former co-owner of the Silvertree Deli in Suttons Bay, has created a diverse menu which includes sandwiches and others items popularized at Silvertree, as well as appetizers, salads, soups, focaccia pizza, burgers and floats, malts and shakes. Xylo also carries a full line of Northwoods Soda, a hand-crafted soda syrup produced in the Grand Traverse area. The Northern Michigan restaurant is committed to sourcing ingredients locally, recycling and using compostable products, using no MSG and serving "really good food at a reasonable price."

Patrons of Traverse City’s Right Brain Brewery, which allows outside food to be brought into its pub, are expected to be one of Xylo’s primary customer bases. Accordingly, the restaurant is making takeout a main focus, and offers extended cafe hours of 10:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. on weekdays and 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
