Wander the links of the Manitou Passage Golf Club, a new Michigan golf course in Leelanau County in this video tour. A group of Leelanau County homeowners, led by the owner of The Homestead Resort, built upon the foundation of an existing course designed by the Arnold Palmer Design Company and updated by Wadsworth Golf Construction Company and Peridian International.
The original Palmer plan was updated to a new plan that makes the course more challenging for the low handicap player and more forgiving for the high handicap player. The new plan also calls for restoring and expanding the natural areas to enhance the wildlife habitat and create a dramatic visual contrast with the course. The Peridian plan calls for upgrades to the entrances, roads, parking and clubhouse and the addition of a multi-level cocktail and dining terrace.
Manitou Passage has a charming craftsman style clubhouse built with ledgestone and Cedar shakes. A Great Room features fireplaces, art and fine furnishings including game tables. In addition to a Golf Shop, The Grill serves freshly baked muffins and Seattle’s Best Coffee early in the day … without a charge. Later, its lunch and dinner menus feature the fresh, local foods of Leelanau. Also available are local microbrews or wines. The Manitou Passage can accommodate events as large as 120 people.
