This super-simple holiday craft results in stunning golden fruit that can be displayed, but the fruit can also be served and eaten! This is perfect for preschoolers who want to get in on the holiday decorating fun.

You’ll need:

  • An assortment of fruit—apples, pears and kiwi all work well.
  • Gold Pearl Dust by Wilton. We found ours in the cake decorating section at Michael’s Arts & Crafts in Traverse City (michaels.com). $3.99 for a 3-gram package.
  • A soft, clean paintbrush.

The How-to:

Wash and dry fruit. Pour gold dust powder in a bowl and simply “paint” on the fruit. For a variation mix a bit of lemon juice or vanilla in to make a liquid paint. Put your fruit on a platter and serve—Wilton’s Gold Pearl Dust is edible.
