The public is invited to make their gift wrapping easy, and at the same time support Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region, by getting their Christmas gifts wrapped at the Habitat Gift Wrapping Store at the Grand Traverse Mall.

The Habitat gift wrapping service, in partnership with Grand Traverse Mall during the Christmas season, is a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region.  Nearly 300 Habitat volunteers from throughout the Grand Traverse area are wrapping gifts through December 23.

Gift wrapping costs between $2 and $5 per gift, depending on the size of the gift.  The Habitat Gift Wrapping Store is open Monday-Saturday, noon – 9 p.m., and Sunday, noon – 6 p.m., and is located in the Grand Traverse Mall, next to Fred Meyer Jewelers in the same corridor as Target.

All proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region.

To volunteer to wrap gifts, or for more information, contact Volunteer Coordinator Carrie Ullery-Smith at 231-941-4663.

About Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region

Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region, serving Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties, is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International – a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization.

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged. Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses.

Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor – sweat equity – into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.

Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region also operates a ReStore that sells new and used building materials, household items and fixtures.  The ReStore is open to the public Monday – Saturday and is located at 1129 Woodmere Ave in Traverse City.
