Back in the May issue of Traverse, Northern Michigan’s Magazine, we published a story titled “Rooms With a View,” by our intrepid travel editor Lynda Twardowski. Never one to shrink from a challenge, Twardowski roamed the North seeking 21 of the best views she could find out the windows of hotels, motels, B&B’s and cabins. Views of lakes. Views of forests. Views of rivers. Views of tree-shrouded small-town streets.
We then put the story on MyNorth.com and invited visitors to vote on their favorite room view from the ones that Twardowski described. Well, the results are in, and we’re here to announce that Bay Harbor’s Room 500 was the winner. And a worthy winner, indeed. Who could deny the broad appeal of a canopy-covered balcony gazing across the blue expanse of Lake Michigan from five stories up? And inside? Complete luxe accommodations.
Congratulations to the Inn at Bay Harbor!
Here’s the write-up from the May story:
Room 500, Inn at Bay Harbor, Bay Harbor
Loosen your power tie, guy. When you step into the fully loaded executive suite inside the hotel Travel + Leisure magazine named one of the 500 best in the world, your workday is done. What begins is an extended unwind on your private covered-balcony five stories above the languid waves of Little Traverse Bay. Corporate titans can handle the nightly $1,535 peak season rate; the rest of us can live large on the off-season midweek steal that starts at $375. 800-462-6963, innatbayharbor.com.
