The Oliver Art Center is excited to announce the 2018 gallery schedule. The year kicks off with the Annual Furniture, Fiber, Photography, and Sculpture Exhibition January 19–February 16. In addition to the show, OAC’s Cabin Fever Artist Talks are back with four guest speakers; Julia Kline for furniture, Gloria Kirk-Hanna for fiber, Noah Sorenson for photography, and Nat Rosales for sculpture.

The second show of the season runs February 23–March 23 and features the artwork of painter Amy Arntson, photographer Greg Seman, and encaustic painter Marissa Voytenko. The third exhibit is the wildly popular Annual Regional Student Exhibition—all schools in the five-county region are invited to participate, March 30 to April 13.

OAC will welcome back warmer weather with a Summer Member Exhibit and Retrospective, April 20 through June 1. This exhibition will not only celebrate OAC’s talented members, but it will commemorate 70 years of OAC’s history. The mid-summer exhibit, June 8 to July 13, presents regional artists Beth Bynum, Cynthia Foley, and Sarah Innes with their bright and bold works of art. Summer winds down with another group exhibit of Traverse City artists: Shanny Brooke, Joseph De Luca, and Daniel Heron. These artists are all abstract/expressionist painters whose work ranges in style from rich and dense to flowing and cloudlike. Different elements make up a whole in this exhibit which will be on display July 20 to August 30.

The All Media Juried Exhibition takes place September 7 to October 12. the autumn exhibit, October 19 to November 23, features the landscape paintings of Linda Beeman, Carolyn Damstra, Susana Green, Jane Kramer, Thomas Tomasek, Lynn Uhlmann, and Catherine VanVoorhis in addition to an open call for other landscape works of art. The year finishes up with the Annual Member Exhibition November 30 to January 4.
