Grateful Snowshoe Benefit will raise funds for homeless animals.
HARBOR SPRINGS: Support homeless animals while snowshoeing some of the most scenic trails in northern Michigan! Be sure to attend Little Traverse Bay Humane Society’s Grateful Snowshoe Benefit on Saturday, February 14, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Registration kicks off at 10 a.m, The event will take place at the beautiful PB&J Farm located just north of Harbor Springs. Participants are invited to bring their furry friend for a walk through the woods and to enjoy a delicious lunch afterward while their best buddy snacks on some tasty treats of their own. Char-grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, PB&J sandwiches and other delicious snacks will be available, all courtesy of Cathy and Mark Bissell and Janie and Tim Jenkins. There will be a hot chocolate, a bonfire to make s’mores and everyone will receive a swag bag full of goodies, including a cozy fleece scarf. There are three snowshoe trails ranging from beginner to expert. Snowshoes will be available, free of charge, courtesy of Bearcub Outfitters. Participants are invited to walk a shelter dog if they do not have one of their own.
There are two ways to participate: individuals can walk for a $30 entry fee ($35 at the door) or have family and friends sponsor them. The top three participants who gain the most sponsor money will win a fabulous gift basket with prizes that include gift certificates to Gurney’s, Boyne Highlands, Stafford’s Bay View Inn and Northern Lights Recreation! This event is made possible due to a number of generous sponsors including KRG Excavating, Progressive North LLC, Cupps Masonry, Inc., Ruff Life Pet Outfitters, Lite 96 FM, Bearcub Outfitters, Peg and Bob Hull, Beth and Greg Skau and Shanna Robinson and Daniel Powers.
Little Traverse Bay Humane Society is a 100 percent donor-funded, no-kill, non-profit organization that offers warm shelter, veterinary services, and personal attention to all the animals in their care, as well as proactive methods to control pet overpopulation. Little Traverse Bay Humane Society is committed to educating the public about the humane treatment of companion animals.
