Interlochen State Park

A 187-acre park between Green Lake and Duck Lake, which are both great for swimming, boating, and fishing. Interlochen State Park was Michigan's first state park, founded in 1917 to protect the virgin pine stand (the only one in the Lower Peninsula besides Hartwick Pines). The Interlochen Center for the Arts is right next door. 231-276-9511, Interlochen State Park
