Jitterbug Perfume

Every year Amanda Danielson, sommelier and co-owner of Traverse City’s much-loved Trattoria Stella outfits a bar at the Filmmaker’s Lounge (in a loft above Front Street) with select beer, wine, spirits and a signature batched cocktail. Amanda calls this year’s potion Jitterbug Perfume, so baptized for the Tom Robbins novel of the same name. “Think Bingo Pajama, the sacred beet and high floral aromatics,” Amanda tells us. Not sure what she means? Pick up a copy, shakeup a Jitterbug Perfume and raise a toast to great story and fabulous libations.

Ingredients

In a metal shaker tin, combine
  • 1 ounce lime-infused Grand Traverse Distillery wheat vodka
  • 1 ounce fresh-squeezed orange juice
  • ½ ounce McClary Bros. Michigan Beet and Carrot shrub (MI-based)

  • ½ ounce simple syrup
Fill the tin with ice and shake like crazy.
