Fire Alarm Installation Technician
Koorsen Fire & Security, one of the nation’s largest privately held fire & security services companies, is in search of a qualified Fire Alarm Installation Technician at our Traverse City, MI branch.

Â Primary Functions
Â *Install and service of fire alarm and suppression systems
Â *Install fire alarm, suppression, and engineered systems to specifications and
Â *Check out of all wiring and final terminations
Â *Assemble and program new panels and equipment
Â *Respond to trouble calls
Â *Complete and process required paperwork in a timely fashion
Â *Represent Koorsen in a professional positive manner
Â *Ensure high level of customer service, satisfaction and communication
Â *Ensure continued communication and cooperation with Koorsen staff
Â *Follow safety rules and good driving habits
Â *Follow Koorsen policies and procedures
Â *Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Â *Minimum High School Diploma or GED with 2 years working experience OR
Â *High School Diploma or GED, plus a Trade school or certification with at least
1 year of experience in the service of Fire Alarm, Fire Suppression, and/or
Â *Customer oriented interpersonal skills
Â *Technical and/or Mechanical knowledge and abilities
Â *Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications
Â *Must be willing to attend training sessions and mandatory meetings
Â *Must be able to obtain required Certification(s)
Essential Functions and General Requirements:
Â *Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend acceptable
Â *Must have regular and punctual attendance.
Â *Must have strong mathematical skills.
Â *Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Â *Must be able to access all areas of route vehicle, including loading &
Â *Must be able to access and tolerate small crawl spaces.
Â *Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 75 pounds
Â *Must be able to push and pull greater than 50 pounds as needed
Â *Must be able to safely use and climb a ladder and reach a height of at
least 12 ft.
Â *Must be able to safely use a man lift and reach a height of up to 40 feet
to perform services
Â *Constant (5-8hrs/shift) standing, walking, handling objects, and
Â *Frequently (2-5hrs/shift) reaching, carrying and grasping objects,
Â *Occasionally (up to 2hrs/shift) stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing,
Â balancing,crawling, exposure to weather, heavy to very heavy
