Temporary full time jobs (11/1/2017 thru 7/31/2018). Traverse City, MI. Work shifts vary; 35 hrs/wk­ Employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period; 7 days/week; must be able to work Monday thru Sunday, day off rotates.$12.50/hr / OT: $18.75/hr (not guaranteed). Employer provides optional modest housing to employees at cost of $300 per month (payroll deducted), plus a $150 refundable security deposit. 4 employees assigned to a 2 bedroom, 2 bath furnished apartment at Emerald Creek Apartments, 2520 Crossing Circle, Traverse City, MI 49684, approximately 1 mile from workplace. Employees pay and provide their own daily transportation between the housing and workplace. Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Will be paid every two weeks. Employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law.  Duties: Performs food preparation assistance by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding vegetables and fruits; cleaning, cutting, and grinding meats, poultry, and seafood. Provides foodstuffs and utensils for the chef by carrying pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator. Prepares all designated foods according to recipes, tasting and adjusting flavor, controls recipes by weighing and measuring designated ingredients. Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils, segregating and removing garbage; steam-cleaning or hosing garbage containers. Keeps supplies and foodstuffs ready by inventorying stock; requisitioning supplies and foodstuffs; verifying receipt; storing. Maintains food hierarchy and ensures all food is labeled and dated. Maintains knife safety protocol. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs. Prepares food as outlined on Banquet Event Order.  Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, & equipment required to perfonn the job. Employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker. Initial cost of transportation from place of origin (including meals & to the extent necessary lodging) to the place of employment will be reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Transportation reimbursement will be the lower of the most economical & reasonable common carrier cost of transportation or the actual cost of transportation (substantiated by receipts). Subsistence reimbursement will be a minimum of $12.07 per day & a maximum of $51.00 per day (with documentation of actual expenses). Reimbursement to the worker will be made no later than the first week of employment. Return transportation to the worker’s place of origin will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer.   The required drug screen and criminal background check will be pre hire
