Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.

  • Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills necessary. Previous relevant supervisory experience is required.

  • Basic math skills are necessary in order to calculate change, volume sales, tax percentages, and balance cash registers.

  • Must be able to read and apply company procedure, inventory, and ordering system documents.

  • Good interpersonal skills are required in order to provide courteous customer service and provide coaching and work direction to team members.

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks accurately and courteously. Must be able to monitor activity both within the store and at gas pumps.

  • Must be able to complete required training in specified training periods.

  • Computer literacy is required. The ability to use company software for operations, Human Resource applications, and Microsoft applications within a reasonable training period is necessary.

  • Must be able to work any shift/or any day in order to coordinate schedules with the Store Manager.

  • Must have reliable personal transportation in order to complete banking responsibilities and other off-site business activities as required.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, throughout the assigned shift in order to move, stack, store and handle inventory.

  • Must be able to stand, stoop and bend for extended periods throughout the assigned shift.

  • Must be able to work inside coolers.

  • Must be able to ascend and descend a five-foot ladder safely. #CA

Job Responsibilities

  • Welcome our valued customers and assist them as needed during their shopping experience.

  • Provide work direction to Customer Service Associates, grocery, and produce team members.

  • Participate in training of new team members.

  • Provide feedback to team members and to General Manager on performance.

  • Fills in for General Manager as needed, supervising team members and taking calls in General Manager’s absence.

  • Receive and process financial payments using cash register, credit card scanners, lottery ticket machines and other equipment to complete sales transactions.

  • Ensure the sale of beer, spirits, tobacco products and lottery tickets comply with state and federal requirements.

  • Follow company procedures on cash handling, preparation and recording of bank deposits, and bank deliveries.

  • Maintain inventory in produce and grocery departments. Review sales information and current inventory to ensure products are available for sale. Reviews customer requests for specific products and includes those when appropriate.

  • Prepare orders and interact with vendors to ensure profitability by controlling inventory levels and reducing waste.

  • Serve as the store’s Safety Captain, perform safety audits and make sure that employees follow safety procedures.

  • Collaborate with the General Manager and all store associates in a team environment to provide the excellent customer service that Blarney Castle is know for.
