At this Benzie Audubon hosted hike GTRLC & Benzie Audubon volunteers Bryce and Paula Dreeszen will lead a group to check out the courtship displays of woodcock and listen to spring frogs in the marsh. At dusk during spring, male American Woodcock announce their presence to females with a ritual including distinctive calls and an enthusiastic zig-zag flight which he repeats until dark.
Dress appropriately for the weather and be prepared to walk ~1/2 mile. This is not a dog friendly event.
