10:00 am – POP CAN FISHING
Join in some fishy fun and you’ll learn how to make your own fishing reels, play casting games, and go fishing. For the young and young-at-heart. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Bass Lake at Trails End Rd, 5 miles south of Empire, 1 hour.

10:00 am – EARTHCACHING
Using mapping software and a set of clues, go on a journey to discover a geological feature of Sleeping Bear. Whether you are a novice or experienced cacher, join a ranger on this trek to learn something new! Please note that geocaching with traditional physical caches is not permitted in the park.
Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive Lake Michigan Overlook #9, .5 mile,1.5 hours.

3:00 pm – HEROES OF THE STORM
This re-enactment of a turn-of-the-century shipwreck rescue is designed for children of all ages.
Maritime Museum, Glen Haven, 30 min.

5:00 pm – PEDAL THE TRAIL
Ride the Heritage Trail and learn about the history of Glen Haven, the geologic significance of the park, and much more! Route will be all paved trail.
Reservations recommended: call (231) 326-4700 x5005 at least 2 hours before program. Bring your bike, helmet, and water.
Glen Haven General Store. 4 miles, 1.5-2 hours.

8:00 pm – TWILIGHT TALKS
Learn more about the fascinating aspects of Sleeping Bear Dunes’ natural and cultural wonders in a nightly presentation. Inquire at the Phillip A. Hart Visitor Center or campground bulletin boards for the night’s subject.
DH Day Campground Amphitheater and Platte River Campground Amphitheater, 45 min.
