In this panel discussion students from North Central Michigan College will discuss how they perceive and use social media. Their experience of social media evolved in a world that was already online when they were born, and growing up in a digital landscape affects how they understand the possibilities and limitations of online interactions. Find out why these students are generally optimistic about the future of the digital world and 21st century modes of communication, even in a climate where many people fear the influence of fake news, social media bubbles, and online isolation. This is a culminating project of a technology-themed English class which examined digital writing through the lens of rhetoric. Moderated by North Central Michigan College adjunct English professor Carrie Tebeau. Please register.
