11:00 am – KELDERHOUSE TALES
Take a bite out of the rich agricultural history of Port Oneida as we explore the Kelderhouse apple orchard, farm and historic schoolhouse! Learn about the park’s efforts to protect these important cultural resources.
Kelderhouse Farm on Port Oneida Rd, 4 miles north of Glen Arbor, .5 mile, 1 hour.

1:00 pm – JUNIOR RANGERS 101
Learn the basics about being a Junior Ranger, and work toward earning your patch. Each program will also highlight a different
special person, place, or thing Junior Rangers help the park to protect.
DH Day Log Cabin in DH Day Campground, 45 min.

3:00 pm – HEROES OF THE STORM
This re-enactment of a turn-of-the-century shipwreck rescue is designed for children of all ages.
Cannery, Glen Haven, 30 min.

3:30 pm – LYLE GUN DEMONSTRATION
Watch a live black powder firing of the Lyle Gun, a line-throwing cannon that was used by the U.S. Life-Saving Service and the U.S.
Coast Guard for over 75 years to rescue thousands of shipwreck victims.

8:00 pm – TWILIGHT TALKS
Learn more about the fascinating aspects of Sleeping Bear Dunes’ natural and cultural wonders in a nightly presentation. Inquire at the Phillip A. Hart Visitor Center or campground bulletin boards for the night’s subject.
