Lace up your tennis shoes, bring a friend, and come support Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan on Saturday, August 14, 2010, as supporters walk and run along a scenic three-mile route for a cure. Registration will start at 8 a.m. and “The Walk & Run” will begin at 10 a.m.
“The Walk & Run” will take place through Petoskey’s historic Bay View Resort Community. Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan is currently servicing over 200 patients in Northern Michigan. All money raised at “The Walk & Run” will stay in Northern Michigan. The event will include food, refreshments and entertainment. Those who plan to take part in “The Walk & Run” may also register online at www.leukemiamichigan.org.
There is $20 pre-registration fee to participate in “The Walk & Run” and $25 registration fee for those who register the day of the event. Each participant who raises $100 will receive a 2010 “The Walk” T-shirt. The registration fee will go towards the $100 required to receive “The Walk” T-shirt.
To make the event even more exciting, supporters can recruit and name their teams. They can then register their teams online at www.leukemiamichigan.org, where they may set up a personalized fundraising page to share their stories. Family members and friends of the teams may donate via credit card on the website through the participant’s page.
