Featuring the Plein Air Painters of Northwest Michigan—
The City Opera House of Traverse City is hosting “Just Great ART” for a two-month exhibition and sale. Plein Air Painters of Northwest Michigan will be featured November 1, 2017 through January 2, 2018. The exhibition includes paintings in oil, watercolor, pastel, gouache, and acrylic. A portion of all sales benefits the City Opera House.
The Plein Air Painters of Northwest Michigan spend May to November painting at locations throughout the Grand Traverse Area. From boot camp in May to multiple paint outs in the summer months to the last fluttering leaves of autumn, this group of artists strives to capture our beautiful landscapes. Many of those paintings plus paintings based on plein air experiences will be shown. The artists are: Sue Bowerman, Judy Kelly, Ruth Kitchen, Dorothy Mudget, Janet W. Oliver, Marilyn Rebant, Ann Robinson, and Laura Swire.
The opening reception, with refreshments, is Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the City Opera House, 106 East Front Street, Traverse City. The exhibition is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and during evening City Opera House events.
