10:00 am – BEACH WALK BIRD WATCH
Walk the beach, learn new things, be a citizen scientist, and help a ranger collect data for use in an ongoing study of avian botulism within Sleeping Bear Dunes.
Maritime Museum beach, about 1 mile, 1-1.5 hours.

11:00 am – HISTORY DETECTIVES: DIGGING UP THE PAST
Take a hands-on approach to “digging” up the history of Sleeping Bear Dunes!
Cannery, Glen Haven, .5 mile, 45 min.

1:00 pm – POP CAN FISHING
Join in some fishy fun and you’ll learn how to make your own fishing reels, play casting games, and go fishing. For the young and young-at-heart. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Bass Lake at Trails End Rd, 5 miles south of Empire, 1 hour.

3:00 pm – HEROES OF THE STORM
This re-enactment of a turn-of-the-century shipwreck rescue is designed for children of all ages.
Maritime Museum, Glen Haven, 30 min.

4:00 pm – WILDERNESS SKILLS 101
Are you planning to explore the great outdoors this summer?
Prepare for your adventures in nature with basic wilderness skills.
Sleeping Bear Point Trail, west of Maritime Museum, 1 hour.

8:00 pm – TWILIGHT TALKS
Learn more about the fascinating aspects of Sleeping Bear Dunes’ natural and cultural wonders in a nightly presentation. Inquire at the Phillip A. Hart Visitor Center or campground bulletin boards for the night’s subject.
